Find a quiet place where you will not be disturbed. This is your sacred space.
A place where the past does not weigh heavy. A place where the future does not press upon you.
A place where only this moment exists.
Sit comfortably, either cross-legged on the floor or with your feet firmly planted on the ground. Rest your hands on your knees or place one palm over your heart and the other on your belly.
Close your eyes.
Take a deep breath in through the nose… filling your lungs, expanding your belly.
Hold it for a moment.
Now exhale through the mouth… a slow, deliberate release.
Again, inhale deeply… drawing in clarity, acceptance, peace.
Exhale… letting go of tension, of self-judgment, of the past.
Feel your shoulders drop. Feel your jaw unclench. Feel your entire body soften.
With each inhale, you invite in stillness.
With each exhale, you release the weight of yesterday.
You are here now. And that is enough.
The Weight of Regret
Regret is a heavy thing. It lingers in the body, in the mind, in the heart.
It whispers: You should have done things differently. You should have known better. You should have chosen another path.
But hear this truth, regret is a teacher, not a prison.
The past has already played its part. It has already shaped you, refined you, brought you to this very moment.
You do not have to carry it any longer.
You do not have to be defined by what has already happened.
Right now, in this moment, you are free to choose something new.
Breathe that in.
Guided Release: Letting Go of the Past
Now, bring to mind a regret you have been holding onto.
Perhaps it is a decision you wish you had made differently.
Perhaps it is a moment where you feel you failed yourself or someone else.
Perhaps it is a path you did not take, a chance you did not seize.
Whatever it is, see it clearly. Allow yourself to feel it, not to punish yourself, but to acknowledge its presence.
Take a deep breath in… and as you exhale, imagine this regret as a heavy stone resting in your hands.
Feel its weight. Feel how you have carried it, how it has shaped you, how it has lingered.
Now, in your mind’s eye, picture yourself standing before a flowing river.
The water is clear, endless, ever-moving.
Step forward, holding your stone, the regret, the burden.
Look at it one last time. Acknowledge the lesson it brought you.
Now, with an exhale, release it.
Drop the stone into the river.
Watch as the water carries it away, dissolving it, transforming it.
Feel the weight lifting from your hands. From your heart. From your soul.
The past no longer holds you. You are free.
Breathe deeply. Feel the lightness within you.
You are not the mistakes you have made.
You are the wisdom you have gained from them.
Welcoming a New Beginning
Place your hand over your heart. Feel its steady rhythm.
It does not beat for the past.
It does not beat for regret.
It beats for this moment.
It beats for the future that is still unfolding.
Whisper to yourself:
"I forgive myself."
"I honor the lessons my past has given me."
"I release what no longer serves me."
"I am free to move forward."
Sit with these words. Let them sink into your being.
Breathe.
Be here.
Be new.
Returning to the Present
Slowly, begin to bring awareness back to your body.
Wiggle your fingers. Wiggle your toes.
Take a deep breath in… and sigh it out.
When you are ready, gently open your eyes.
Pause. Notice how you feel.
Lighter? Softer? More open?
You have let go. You have chosen freedom.
Carry this truth with you today:
The past cannot be changed. But you can.
You are evolving, moment by moment, breath by breath.
Before you leave this space, ask yourself:
"What new path am I ready to embrace now that I have released the past?"
Reflect.
Write if you feel called to.
And remember…
You are not your past.
You are the person who has grown from it.
Until we meet again.
